We miss you!

We miss you!  The week after Fair Hill is always a bit of a let-down after the high-flying we did for five straight days with you.  For five days we're living and breathing Fair Hill, and then suddenly we're back to laundry and making dinner and taking kids to school and planning how many Halloween celebrations we have to go to OMG NOT ANOTHER ONE!  No?  Not your life?  Just mine?  OK, carry on.  We still miss you!

We miss the competition:

And the celebration:

We miss the glamour:

And the guts:

We miss the decorations:

And we miss The Dutta Corp:

We miss the family:

And the friends:

And, let's be honest - we really kind of miss all your muscles!

It takes us two solid weeks of time to set up our city.  We have some faithful volunteers who come paint, decorate, set galloping lanes, set dressage rings, throw straw bales around, and position flowers and pumpkins.  And then we have SO MANY great volunteers who help make our event run smoothly.  And then Monday morning rolls around.

We're fortunate to have a solid core of clean-up crew - Rupert, Pip, John Ryan, Russ, Roger, Kathie, and Bodgie.  Always, always Bodgie.

But, still.  It feels like something is missing.

We'll get through it.  We've got planning to do, already, for next year.  Which, by the way, will happen October 13 - 16, 2016.  Mark your calendars now!  We're looking forward to it.

But still.  We miss you.

Let's Do One More #DuttaFHI, Shall We?

Let's do one more round of #DuttaFHI social media posts before I call it a night, shall we?  Thank you all for coming, braving the cold, and staying cheerful throughout.  Thank you to the press and the photographers, who have to stay out in the cold and take the pictures that we all get to look at from the warmth of our own homes.  Being in the Press Tent all weekend, I saw them working their tails off, with rain coats over the cameras and maybe over their backs, as well.  They work hard, and we love that they can bring this sport in to our living room.

Finally, let's finish up with this one.  Because how can you top #SelfieswithSarah, getting a selfie with the man himself, Tim Dutta.  Thanks, The Dutta Corp, for your amazing support!

Good night, all!  Hope you have happy dreams about your adventures at #DuttaFHI.

Show Jumping at #DuttaFHI, Some More

You keep posting, we'll keep posting.  Deal?

LOVE US some Bodgie, love even more that Intern Sarah had to help Bodgie out with her selfie.  Bodgie won in a well-deserved landslide of a victory for the Volunteer of the Year award.

SNORT - "I get to yell at Olympians".  THANK YOU for volunteering and keeping those pesky Olympians in check!

#DuttaFHI Storms Show Jumping

We're back, with more of your excellent #DuttaFHI social media posts!  How has your Sunday been?  Chilly?  A little rainy?  Exciting?  All of the above?  Let's see!

Will Coleman definitely had a great day - winner of the CCI2*.  Congrats, Will!

I'm so incredibly thankful for the #DuttaFHI and everything Fair Hill has done for me. I learned how to really ride here, galloped for the first time, jumped 3 foot the first time here. I've laughed so hard I've almost fallen off and fallen off and then laughed. I owe the strong relationship with my mother to the hundreds of rides we've had here. I found my best friend and partner in Dyno at these race training barns and then cried after completing a double clear round BN on him here, knowing that it was something we accomplished together and worked toward from the start. I couldn't even begin to express how much these two women in particular have done for me. I owe them so much and can only hope to be a fraction of the women they are one day. I can't believe this week is over for me but I can honestly say it was the best of my life and I can't wait to do it all again next year. #equestrian #3dayeventing #eventer

THANK YOU, Intern Sarah!

I think a winning hug is a nice place to end this one.  Keep them coming, and we'll keep posting, here at #DuttaFHI!
